About us
The ISACA® Central UK Chapter was formed in 1993 to provide ISACA®
members living or working in the Midlands with the opportunity to network
with fellow professionals. We also provide training and professional
development opportunities in Midlands.
Membership now stands at over 430 members. Our members come from both the
public and private sectors, and include professionals and practitioners
at all levels in Audit (both IT and business), Information Security,
Risk and Compliance, IT Governance and IT.
We meet every other month in the centre of Birmingham and Bristol.
Our mission:
To promote the Assurance, Security and Governance of information
systems locally.
Achieved
by:
- promotion of research, standards, competencies
and good practices to Chapter members and organisations
- provision of education and training
- supporting ISACA and IT Governance Institute in
delivering their global strategic direction.
Chapter Benefits
- A local forum where members can meet and share knowledge and experiences.
- A sounding board for problems you may be experiencing in your organisation.
- Regular
evening meetings provided free to members to help them to keep up to
date and maintain their qualification. Catering provided by
the hosts, KPMG, is always first class.
- For members who are not able to attend meetings in Birmingham, presentation slides are made available through the ‘members only’ section of the website.
- Rights to attend other Chapters' meetings.
- Local training events run by the Chapter, with significant discounts for members.
- Quarterly
DataWatch Online journal produced by the London Chapter available free
of charge by download from the ‘members only’ section of
the website.
- Discounts
to various training courses and conferences negotiated by the Chapter
on behalf of members, in exchange for listing the events on the website
. The only proviso is that these events should not clash with
other ISACA events. The Chapter also often gets the opportunity
to market and promote ISACA at stands at the events.
- Members can place job adverts on the Chapter website for free; non-members are charged a fee for this.
- Local leadership opportunities.
- The opportunity to make a positive impact on the local business community.
