Central UK Chapter meeting
"Utilising Data to provide CONFIDENCE in the Past, Present and Future"
| Topic: |
Businesses
constantly make decisions based on the data held within
systems.
As systems become more complex and integral to the operation and
direction of the business, the opportunity for error and also benefit
has never been greater.
Proper
analysis of
the data can provide insight into how your business processes, controls
and policies are working, not only now but also in the past.
Risk
based KPIs and continuous monitoring help to maintain confidence into
the future

| Speakers: |
Andy Howe and Paul Smith, Pwc
|
|
Paul
Smith:
Paul leads PwC's Data Assurance practice in the UK and is responsible
for the technical services and practice developments that address the
data aspects of PwC's client assignments. For Paul, that means
addressing the whole spectrum of data services, from strategy through
to hands-on data collection, analysis and correction projects.
An area of particular interest to Paul is broadening the use of data
beyond the traditional area of financial reporting. That means using
data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organisation's
control framework as well as addressing the increasing need to deliver
non financial data to meet a growing demand from regulators, suppliers
and customers.
Andy
Howe:
Andy Has worked in PwC Data Assurance at PwC for over 13 years and
leads the Midlands team. During that time he has helped
clients
across many industries and sectors analyse their data and use it to
answer questions, solve problems and provide real confidence in
decisions. Andy has worked across many of the aspects of data
management, but has a passion for re-performance and modelling of
processes.
